Made a new shift knob today
I made a Brass shift knob on a 2 axis cnc lathe today. Turned out pretty good, but still needs a little work. I had to make a little collar to hold up the shift boot, but didnt have a set screw, so for now its held up with a pipe clamp. The knob is just a perfect sphere with about .125 stump on the bottom, but i should have made that a little longer like on the stock knob because my fingers touch the boot a little. I think if I put a new ziptie in the top of the boot and tighten it up a little it wont be as bad. It sits about the same height as the old knob, but it sure is slippery, when I pull back on the shifter it feels like my hand is gonna slip off. If I polish it to a mirror finish it might be a little more grippy, what do you guys think? hows it look?
