experiencing electrical issues
I just purchased this car less than 2 weeks ago and have already had it in the shop 3 times now it breaks down on me again today this being a electrical issue took it to advance auto they test the battery and altenator
both check good I change the positive terminal to put a new one on and go to start the car and the battery is dead. Took it to autozone and they said to charge and retest battery but altenator was not putting out any amps ive read that there are a ton of electrical issues with these cars any help dont want to fork out over 400 if its not the altenator |

eh this would be the wrong place to post questions about technical problems but if you want a true focus expert to take a look at your car you need to come to belmont on saturday the 16th at around 10am and bring the focus with you. there will be enough focus fanatics there im sure the problem could get worked out if its something besides the alternator. we are having a mini focus rally of about 20 people maby including THE BEST focus mechanic,tuner, and guru probably in the united states and mexico. check page 13 of this thread for more details if you want to come out. http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/s...=1#post2742934
oh and it could possibly be a bad pigtail connector on the alternator. if thats the problem the alternator could be fine but it cant get any power to the battery.

well I just replaced the battery and so far its fine but I know with it being new if there are problems it could take a couple of days to start acting up again

Hey Cowboy, I live in Bessemer City. I am a mechanic. I may be able to help you out. I have some experience working on svt focus. I have done a lot of work on mine. You should come to the meet at Tom's shop Saturday. It would be nice to meet you. My svt focus is sonic blue.
