i used a cm stg 4 6 puck. held great at 353whp and never slipped once. i liked it enough that that is what im getting for my sti

They say 6-pucks are bad for longevity. How many miles did you put on it?

15k didnt look wore at all when i took it off. ive heard that the 4 pucks are worse for ware.

Well i dropped off FF for a while, just had way too much going on and not enough time to get the clutch in the car. But im finally back to working on the SVT turbo project. Put the Clutch Masters FX400 six puck clutch setup and the torsen LSD in the car. Went actually quite well. I used a post off here for LSD install instructions that were great. Now its time to get back in touch with Tom and get my J&S and wideband logging and get to tuning again. I think i wanna up the boost a bit now.

WOW , thats a nice build. Its funny when I started reading this , I thought , man who dug up this old post .Didnt realize it was you.LOL. Thats cool. That turbo adapter you made up, How did it work out ? with the slim fans and all ?

Well the adapter works great. used a bent section of 2.5 in exhaust tubing, and heated and crushed it till it was oval shaped and fit to the t3 flanges nicely. It set the turbo front to clear the sensor that reads the fly wheel teeth and cleared the PCV hosing. But the down side is the stock fans didnt come close to fitting. so i used the biggest slim fans i could. And turns out they dont pull enough air through the radiator. it runs hot in slow traffic and when idled for an extended period of time in the summer. but while driving it runs at normal temp. The turbo im using is pretty big also. a smaller one might have cleared better.
The only other problem i have is i cant keep the damn exhaust bolts to stay tight. lock tight and lock washers dont make a difference.

OK , thats good to know about the slim fans. You could go FAA on them , get some drilled head military grade bolts and safety wire them. Use stainless wire. Plus it will look good. We do it every day on the planes at American Airlines...

huh thats an idea. where would i get those kinda bolts? I am looking into Stage 8 fasteners. The have a decent locking system but im not sure if it will work out for all of the bolt locations.

I dont understand the issue with the SPA manifold and things not fitting , a simple exh side on turbo change may help to get your stock fans back on and things working properly
