There is a whole thread over on FJ about it. But it was because the company that made them for FS didn't do a good enough job and they weren't sell enough. I guess Randy was turning donw a bunch because he expects perfection. That was all from the thread over on the other forum.

That was the reason he stated for the carbon fiber version.I believe Vic said the reason they no longer have the fiberglass one is because the company that made it for them closed up.

Thats correct. They are out of business so no more lips for now.

PZEV FSWerks CAI

Do you know if this (or another CAI) will work on a 2004 2.3L PZEV. I was told at a local custom shop and by a ford dealer that I could not replace the stock PZEV air filer with a custom CAI because of the engine sensors, ecu... This is actually my sons car and he wants to mod it but I'm scared to mess something up being that it is PZEV. Thanks...

This intake will work fine with an '04 PZEV and it should not throw any codes it accepts all of the stock connections.

I just installed mine yesterday, and it was a breeze. I was going to take pictures and do a write-up, but I first saw a picture manual in the package that looked real good so I was like, ah, oh well.

That is until I got to the last page partway through installation that said how the 08+ have a slightly different install. Judging by the pictures, mine was a breeze! I didn't have to get anywhere underneath the car to remove anything, I only had to remove 3 8mm bolts and two hoses!

My idle, once warmed up, is less eratic than it was before, but I also installed an aftermarket exhaust at the same time. Fit, design, and looks of the pipe are top notch, I'm very happy.

5,800-6,500 doesn't choke itself out like it did before, and the one time I really pushed on it I got a chirp into 2nd. Exhaust and intake made a noticeable improvement, very worth it.
