FIA? Who are you racing with?

I would look at the NASA CCR. And I would hope the cage builder knows the specs.

They're in the rule book. In fact Rally America has separate links to "visuals" on their site showing the minimum allowable design and bar locations. And yes, who would build a cage without consulting the rules first! I required my cage builder to provide a written statement that the cage was built in conformance with the rules in effect at the time construction. If something was not in conformance he was on the hook to fix it. Most reputable builders will have no trouble doing this.

Let me rephrase, I have read the rule book inside and out, they have dimensions of what the minimum must be, however, if you read it carefully, the inspectors are allowed to dissallow the cage even if it follows spec if they don't feel its good enough. I think my design would pass, it meets the minimum requirements and then some, but i would rather have a proven cage, such as LCR's but thats the only one i know of and i want to know any other options that have been approved!

I mean, purchasing a cage is over 2k from LCR, so i wanna make sure its not my only option.

Discretion is given to inspectors primarily to address quality of workmanship. For example, if welds are sloppy they can assume weld penetration may be bad as well and can reject it for that reason. I have never seen a scrutineer reject a cage for being overbuilt. A cage meeting the minimum specifications is perfectly acceptable as long as build quality is acceptable as well.
