Can a 08+ Focus become an ST with the right mods? Other year foci as well/instead?

I've been playing around with the idea of getting a new car. I really like the Euro-foci just like everyone else and thought; other than the obvious change in the engine... has anyone modded a focus to the look of a ST with similar performance and features? even close?

I thought it might be fun to have a for car to mod but if this idea doesn't work then i'm just going to buy a new car... unfortunately, not a focus. I also can't afford to wait until the Fiesta or 2010 focus unless they come out in the next 2-4 months. I didn't see anything about ETA anywhere.

I looked for like 5 hours on something like this, this forum and google, and could not find any information about this. I'm more curious if someone has just plain out done it.

Thanks for any information you may have to bring, and if you have info from another site or thread, please post it.

Thanks!

I don't think its possible, for one its a totally different platform. The ST is the C1 chassie, like the mazda3 and volvo s40/c30. it would be ridiculously expensive. Making a focus as powerful as an ST and perform like one is a different story, that is more likely. You don't like the 09's huh?

if that 08 focus is bought somewhere other than the US or Canada, then yes.

You can get close, idk how good but you can make US focus perform very well. For the 08's or any focus with the 2.0L duratec in it, you can get a turbo kit from focus sport, which I believe they have kits that will put you well over 200hp and tq to the wheels. And of course you can upgrade the suspension and such. It might not be AS good though, b/c the ST comes with a volvo 5 cly which is very torquy and its the C1 chassie which many say its much better then the chassie used on the MKI focus and the focus in the US. BTW, if you want an ST, the closest thing to it in the states is the Volvo C30, its basically an ST in volvo trim and with a slightly softer suspension.

yes, swap a 2.3L head on there, and slap a giant turbo in the engine bay!

ah, okay then, that would explain it. maybe he did not buy yet though? i mean, the 3 would have all the stuff he wants from the ST, but even has a bigger engine and the VVT.
