Ford paid for that one, it has a manufacturer plate on it. That baby is owned by Ford...

It also has the Ford internal ID number on the windshield (the yellow block of stickers in the top-center).

I've been thinking about why that RS is in the U.S.
-- Probably to check a number of things
1) Suspension setting calibration for U.S. roads (I hope they don't confine their testing to Michigan roads.......)
2) Public reaction - to guage interest (Attention Ford: Park it in a shopping mall - preferably out front. A little side street ain't gonna cut it.)

Anybody think of some more reasons?

Edit: Tip sent in to Autoblog

I'm thinking that there are some domestic guys who haven't had a chance to test it over in Europe and are waiting in line to strap in and hit that push button ignition. There could also be a magazine who paid a good penny to be the first rag to test the RS at the nearby test facility.

Jaws are going to drop. Watch out STIs and EVOs. You're nemesis is in town to kick ass and take names.

People that aren't from MI probably don't know but Royal Oak is home to Dream Cruise, which is a massive car show/cruise weekend. Anyway, let's hope its not a one time thing, I'd like to see one parked behind my house!!
