OMG so they DIDN'T kill the US version....hopefully. I wonder if it's still the 305hp turbo 5cyl?
it was definitely the European production version, but left hand drive from Germany.

Thanks for the pics.

So, are you ready to trade your scooby for the RS when it goes on sale?
I already traded the scooby in on a 2008 335i coupe. But I'll definitely be picking up the RS as a collector second car if it ever goes on sale here. It will be garaged and barely driven and left completely stock.

Oh HELL no!!!

I woulda told the lady to get with the program (or take a chill pill: "JUST a Focus"? Sheesh - guess she's more impressed by your Bimmer, eh? Typical.), and I woulda CAMPED OUT with the thing until whoever was driving it returned. (Whereupon I woulda deluged him/her with questions, of course.)

Two other things:

(1) When I saw the first pic, my initial reaction was that it was a joke - because that Michigan tag looks Photoshopped on. But then I noticed the telltale U.S.A. details (the "one way" sign, etc.) and, of course, the other pics.

(2) How in hell did you get the crowd to disperse long enough to snap all those shots? (jk, unfortunately)

EDIT: ah, now - three hours later - the first pic (with tag) has become the last pic...

They do bring the euro cars to home base now and then. They are allowed to insure them, register them, and drive them on the roads because they are classified as a "test" or "prototype" vehicle. But iirc, they have only a limitted amount of time to do it. I remember when they brought a FPV F6 Typoon from Austrailia. Newspapers here caught it and said ot was the next Taurus.
