I've been looking at eBay a lot. I got my HID kit from a place called Revolution Performance Motorsports and they carry both the connectors and bulbs I need (50 for the bulbs and 20 for the connectors). The retrofit source also carries D2S bulbs (ranging from 50 to 75).

well the OEM plastic is completely clear and does not distort or dim the light output. The ones that came on the headlights have waves and do not let the light pass through them cleanly.

UPDATE 5/26/2009

OK I'm super excited right now. It started raining but I got time to throw in my passenger side headlight and test it. I rigged up my H1 6000K HID bulb just to do a test. (I'll be ordering my 6000K D2S bulbs and adapter cables this week from "the retrofit source")

It was amazing! I put the headlight in first without the clear cover on the front. Then I slipped the cover on to see the difference. Of course I took pictures. Seriously, I was blown away at how good it turned out!

I parked about 20 ft back from the garage then took pictures.

Pictures (just remember this is the passenger side headlight ONLY with a rigged H1 bulbs)

Without clear cover.........

*Lost picture; will try and find them again.*

and with the clear cover.....

*Lost picture; will try and find them again.*

I don't think the brightness of the light was effected; it just blurred the cut-off line a little bit. I'll do a official test when i get the correct bulbs in place.

Should I just go ahead and get the OEM covers?

Get the OEM covers. They wont haze as fast as aftermarket ones and the difference will be noticable.

Oh, and i dont know how i missed your thread, but use a heatgun to remove teh old sealant. Just go with a flathead to scrape it out.

and i HIGHLY recommend that you get some Nissan Butyl headlight sealant to reseal your headlights. You only need one roll, one roll is enough to do at least 3 sets of headlights.

Nothing worse than having your headlights complete, then having to take them apart again to reseal it due to fogging.

edit- You should also color mod your tsx projectors while theyre still out. I think you use some washers to space the lense further away. its on HID Planet somewhere.

I noticed a huge difference between the ebay lens and Ford lens with my retrofit. I'm guessing some aftermarket lenses are better than others.

lol. I was surprised at how little difference there was too. But the cutoff is a little blurred. I'll keep looking for the OEM covers though.
