xcal tuner q's

hi, i am thinking about buying an xcal 2 tuner and have some questions. I found on for $200 and he says it will work with any ford 96 and up or something like that, is that correct? Is $200 a decent price? anything i should watch for or worry about when purchasing one? Its only 45 miles away and he said it was set up for a zx2 that he crashed but i can hook it up to my car to make sure its unlocked. Will it work with my car without changing the software if it is unlocked? WIll it tell me if its unlocked?

thanks in advance

200 isnt all that good a price , with the xcal you will then need a tune , I charge 125.00 for a tune thats 325.00, I sell them new for 379.00 and you would get a new XCAL3

If you do get it do make sure it is unlocked

Tom

tom's not kidding. if it's locked, it's not worth it. i've seen plenty of unlocked x2's sell for around $150 on ebay. $200 + $75 (i think it is) to sct to have it unlocked +$75-$200 for a tune= ripoff! just because it's close don't meen you have to buy it. shipping on one is under $10. not everyone is as fortunate as me to get a new x3 for $35! but i got a cheap tune on it that makes me wish i had a tune from tom.
