Wide band 02 is a MUST have

I cannot say enough how important a Wide band AF Guge is , everyone that is adding engine performance parts where they are moving sensors needs to have a wide band AF Guage

Now days with all the sensors there are on there cars and how just changing the position of a sensor can change the fueling it is a MUST to have a wide band , I just cannot say this enough

I do a TON of tunes and when I send out a tune all I have to go by is the 10`s of thousands of Hrs of dyno time I have and all the past Foci I have tuned with Diff mods most of the time I am on the money but there is allways that small % that could be safer or make better WOT power with something as easy as telling me the AF Ratio, This is probably the most important number in tuning and it helps the tuner to keep you safe and to make the safest power

C-F-M has a killer deal on there AEM Wideband right now http://focus.c-f-m.com/index.asp?Pag...ROD&ProdID=698, No I make nothing off this and they dont even know im posting this , I have been meaning to say something about wide band AF for some time but some one linked me to them asking if this wide band was ok and I thought this was a good time to pass this on (and people say I dont play well with other shops) lol

All kidding aside , If you are adding Performance engine parts or have a Tune you need this unit or one like it

Tom

Yep, and the more mods the more a wideband is needed. Not only does it help people like Tom with remote tuning, it will also show you when certain troubles arise (bad inj, bad fuel pump, tune needs tweeking from mods, etc.).
It's an invaluable tool when building a car, and when you are using tuning software such as the pro racer.
This should be a first mod for anyone, especially those buying no name parts off of ebay (bombz, etc).
And yes, CFM does have a killer deal on them right now. Picked one up from them already :)

so this is a great product and all for live monitoring but is this the cheapest way ? say i wanna buy a tune from you and wanna give you my AFR so i can get a more accurate tune can i go somewhere and get an average look of what my AFR is for less?

cause you kno most people modding their cars will overlook this and rather buy something else with that $219 which is why i ask

thanks for the info Tom i will def add this to my need to get list

i read online that you can get any CHEAP air/Fuel gauge and hook it up to your "Signal Wire"

"Run the oxygen sensor signal wires from the switch down to the sensors and splice into the sensor harness. Be sure to splice into the signal wire -- if you don't own service manuals for your car, now's a good time to go get them."

and you don't even need to weld a new bung for a extra o2

SORRY TO THREAED JACK, but does anyone now for sure which one the Signal wire?

It's all about modification, power is just a by-product.

^^^It should go in the rear bung. <<< not to be nasty about it...
You need the front one for the ECU to get it's readings from.

I'm sure Tom will pop in and confirm that for sure.
I just know that in a tune, he usually turns off the rear O2 sensor, which means that leaves a nice tidy spot to mount the wide band sensor.
