My SVT vs. GTI VR6

Well had my run in with a kid in a vr6, we had two runs. I beat him off the line in both runs by about a half car length, then when i was goin into third he jumped ahead by a half car length both times, i kept up close untill he started braking. It was fun and a very close race, gotta give it up to svt for building an I4 that can keep up with the V6 in the VW.

Yea I know what you are saying.....I drive a ZX3 and racing the new Golf VR6, I wasn't impresesd at all.

Mine from a run...2nd, shifted to 3rd and he started to pull also....he gave up when I hit high 4th at 5500 rpms.

Then from a stop light...equal from 1st and 2nd but he gets a big jump shifting in 3rd....then I catched to his rear bumper after 4th/ 5500 rpms......

For the amount of money that car is worth.....it did not impress me a bit! I think my Dad's Golf III VR6 had more power....

Peace...

Nah, it didn't make any more power (unless it was modded), but it was alot lighter than a MK4 GTI.

My friends 2004 VR6 Jetta with an intake, exhaust, and chip put down 200 wheel-HP last week at the dyno. I don't remember the torque, but it was close to that and almost all available around 2K rpm. Needless to say this thing would kill any stockish SVTF in a drag. I think you are just a better driver than the VR6 guy. VR6's run 14s in the 1/4 mile, no?

Seriously, his VR6 chirps the tires in 1-2 shifts, 2-3 shifts, and sometimes 3-4 shifts!!! It is smoking fast.

yeah they are extremely quick i raced my friends he beat me the first time then i won and then i won again. It was really tough to beat it. I raced another one with a blow off valve and something else done to it he beat me by 1 car length i had 3 ppl in the car or i would have done better..

yes the vr6's are very nice and i was suprised when i got him off the line, however he overtook me shifting to third but not by much. I guess he must not be a very good driver otherwise i should have gotten embarrassed.
