Another question about the solenoid. If the oil has been overfilled, could that effect the operation of the VCT?

Sometimes at high RPM's, the engine will cut off completely, but then if I shift quickly into another gear it will return to operate normally. I'm thinking I just need to replace that solenoid, that it's getting stuck open/closed at wide open throttle, where the solenoid will engage. Thought maybe an oil overfill would compromise oil pressure to the solenoid, but the pressure seems to be normal. Any ideas?

I don't have a scan tool, but there's no constant SES light. It comes on when it acts up, then turns off. The timing belt went out on it, and I ended up replacing the whole top half of the motor, new head, valves, timing belt, tensioner, and pulleys. Timing was incorrectly set on the new belt, so I brought to the dealer. They reset the timing correctly after diagnosing the check engine light. This is what the invoice says:

TECH CK. ENGINE LIGHT DIAGNOSIS
3771 MILLER, MIKE LIC#: M193679
CLM30
DIAG SES LIGHT CODE FOR TIMING TO FAR ADVANCED

There are alot of numbers, not sure if one is an engine code or not. I can try to get a scan tool and figure some more out.

I had just had a problem with the VCT solenoid on my '04 SVT. Had the timing belt replaced (at 149,000 miles) and first trip out set a CEL. Turned out the VCT solenoid was physically broken! It wasn't apparent until they removed it and it came out in 2 pieces.
