Drop in air filter vs Short Ram Intake

What are the pros and cons of each? I am mainly looking to increase my gas mileage so I was wondering which type you would reccomend. What brand/model of each type is the best?

id recommend a short ram for mileage. removes that nasty restrictive stock air system, and looks WAY better under the hood if i do say so myself

i agree, a short ram will provide more air flow to the motor and will not have the air restrictions from the stock box, plus the motor sounds nice when its going, going, gone...

Unless ford changes there policy just adding a after market intake won't void your warrenty unless it is the cause of damage. But what I would do is keep your stock intake that way if there are any problems you just swap them back and then take the car in.

Keep the stock airbox and put a drop in. The 08-09 have a nice setup that pulls air in from the front of the car and isn't nearly as restrictive as Duratecs of the past. Put a drop in filter in there. It will eliminate the restrictive nature of the stock air filter, and keep the air coming in colder than that of the SRI.

Thanks. What is the best drop in filter to get?
