Question K&N Intake

Has anyone used the K&N Aircharger intake for the svtf? Recent posts have only mentioned the MAC short ram and CAI kits.

I still don't understand why the heat shield is on the oppisite side it should be on. Also, that breather hose hole looks way too close for comfort.

Maybe it is supposed to act as a scoop, rather than a shield. Catch air flowing under the hood while traveling. Was my guess anyway.

What would happen with the breather hose that close? Think oil might gum up the TB?

Huh. Last time I checked their site they didn't have anything for the SVT. This must be new? Too bad it's for "off road and racing" use and doesn't appear to be CARB legal. How much is it?

From what I can tell it was just released in Sept. Looks to be around $250, looking at K&N's list of resellers. Part number for it is 63-1065, if anyone wants to shop around.

Another one I was looking at was this one from Focus Sport. Same thing, but the shield is flipped around, and seals against the hood, I just don't know about that filter. Anyone used it?

That's another thing I don't understand, it's obviously a K&N filter which is CARB legal so how does the intake tube make it not CARB legal? AEMs, Injens, etc. are CARB legal, am I missing something?

I was wondering the same thing. It retains the MAF sensor, has a hole for the crankcase vent... there's nothing left, right? Surely they can't be talking about noise pollution or something silly like that...
