Non Svt VS SVT Intake

is there a difference between the non svt zetec intake and the svt intake. i know mine (non svt) has a resenator on the tube that connects the Throttle body and MAF sensor. the svt doesnt have that. my Non svt airbox has a resenator on the side by the fender. what other differences are there? what kind of benefits could i expect with buying the SVT airbox. ill be getting a tune by tom too. is there better systems out there than the SVT?

No there really isn't a better intake. The svt snorkle is a lot bigger than your stock one. The svt box allows more flow as well.

You need the SVT maf and an tune to get the max hp out of this setup
Can some1 do an lock post on here about bolt-on and SVT swap so that we don't have to answer the same old question every single week on here.

You dont need the SVT maf, use your stock maf in the SVT maf housing. And yes you will need a tune as it will not run if u just throw in the SVT housing.

I know i have installed th 70mm Housing and tuned it my self.

MAFS's are calibrated per orifice size. X Grams of air per Second can pass through a fixed diameter of Y. If you alter "Y" "X" will also change. Problem is X is calibrated only for Y. This is because a MAFS only takes a small sample of air and guesses at what the total air flow is, then the ECU figures out the proper amount of fuel. If the air sample is the same but the housing and associated air flow is actually larger the fuel quantities will be wrong (lean).

Short answer is do not swap MAFS housings or alter them in any way or you may incur problems.
