The size of the cat is designed for the size/AFR of a given engine to heat up in the desired time. If its too big it won't heat up fast enough and you'll still throw the CEL for efficiency below threshold. You'll end up failing the readiness tests and thus OBD2 emissions inspections.

Then i guess i wouldnt even need a real cat right? The guy in the post i posted pictures of ran a 3" exhaust, if you look his header is hooked to a cat why would he go threw all that work and expense if it didnt actualy pass? Im sure he has alot more mods

So I was thinking OBX header/flex for the D20 with a resonator. Anything else better? Any tips from someone who has done it? thanks.

I've just added my Focuswerk's header/flex & stealth muffler to my Borla system awesome=no rice, just a loud deep deep tone, so I added a Magnaflow #12646 behind the Stealth= what a difference!!!!!! #12646=2.5'' center to center/ 6'' round like the stealth which is a Magnaflow, by the way! I love the Focuswerk's header=awesome work! Just goes to show you get what you pay for!

ok so i was thinking of getting the OBX header with 2.5 inch straight pipe to a muffler tip. i was thinking about putting a resonator just for some back pressure and to calm down the niose a little bit.i dont think there will be too much restriction with this. i also have a tuner so i can tune to this adjustment. i also have a cold air intake to help with some power. what do you guys think? will it be a good setup?

It will work, but it will be very, very loud. You may want to invest in a muffler or additional resonators.

I thought that it was generally viewed that the OBX was better header for the D2.0 as it has smaller primaries than the FSWERK header (FSWERKS have 1 7/8" primaries. I think the OBX has 1 5/16" primaries.).
