Basic Bolt ons: Exhaust Headers/Flex Pipes

I am not really looking for power I am looking to get a good sound. Not a ricey sound like a growly sound is it worth putting a header on or can I just get a new muffler. Also not at all worried about emissions.

Best sound will be achieved with a flex-pipe back exhaust, 2.5". Adding a header to the equation may give you too much sound. Typically when you go with a header, you will want to add a tune; both which will give you more power but also cost more than just a nice 2.5" flex-pipe back exhaust.

Just know that most cameras have lousy microphones and dont capture the entire sound spectrum well (same goes for replaying on some tiny cell phone/ipad built-in speaker.) Most setups will sound better in person. If done right, it should have a nice bottom end sound to it with none of the ricey sounds you'd hear from someone that added a fart can to a stock civic.

If your not looking for power, then add a flex back exhaust system. The fwerk's 2.5'' kit is a good one. Get the stealth system. The fwerks header is the best header, if you want a little more power & torque. It all boils down to what your looking for. The costliest is a fwerk header w/ their stealth system. And then just adding a muffler to your oem exhaust is the least costliest.

I will prolly get the fwerks flex back system for now then later get the header. Thanks for the insight. Any idea roughly the cost of flex back system with stealth?

$450 plus shipping. They have a website, fswerks.com, check them out. If you dont ever plan on getting a header, their race exhaust will be a little cheaper and a little louder. Sign up with them on their facebook page, they occasionally have sales through out the year. I bought mine when it was 20% off.

If you want to clear the CEL's that are a result of installing a header, though, you're looking at another 400 bucks for an ECU tune
