I bought my 2.5 inch exhaust from Trubendz, an i have to say if you drive a hatch you'll be good but if you drive a sedan an tell them you drive a sedan your front pipe will be short, this is the second time they have done this to me. There is some lazy people at that company that just doesn't care about there costomers.

they sent an extra 10 inch pipe for you to pass emission by useing your stock cat, i ended up welding that piece to the front pipe then cutting it to langth to fit.

i just went ahead with mikes advice and got my f2 exhaust for my zx4, i love it... sounds good...no problems at installation either...

So what I am gathering is that the truebendz 00-04 2.5" piping will work with my wife's 05 ST, but I may need some extra piping?

at 200 bucks for the SS, I would be inclined to double it and just get the f2 setup... or save some money by going custom like I did on my prelude.

I see there is some debate here... I would think 2.5" would be marginally better on a mild build (but I am thinking from 2.2L h22a VTEC perspective...). It might not do much, but it won't cause a drop in low/mid range torque with the 2.3L, will it?

As I said above, at the 200 price I'm tempted to just have a crush bent 2.5" custom job done (the one on the lude is beautiful...)



the 2.25" mandrel bent might be about as good as 2.5" crush bent... but again the custom piping should save me some cash...

I'll probably go with a magnaflow muffer from www.hottexaust.com (I've bought from them and they seem to have good deals...)

I will probably get a high flow OBDII compliant cat from them as well, and prob squeeze a straight through resonator on it to mellow it out... (the lude was ridiculously loud before I added a 16" resonator...)

This is in the more distant future... not much $$ to waste now with my wife's medical expenses, so for now I am going to do the custom SRI... at almost 50,000 miles that "lifetime filter" has to go...

the exhaust on this S2K at full VTEC makes me cream in my pants at every race...

so you get shorted in the piping for the 2.5 trubendz system??? hmm, i was kinda thinking about throwing in a stealth system from fswerks, has anybody installed this system on a 06 st? the site had a sound clip of it on a 2.0 duratec only. would the 2.3 be a little more throaty or pretty much sound the same. dont want the fart can sound thats why im looking for the stealth option. the low rumble is more appealing for me.

the stealth will be way quiet. If you want a deep sound. i really like the mbrp if you can find one and also i heard the f2 one the other day and it sounded deep with out a header. the fs race one would be louder since there is no resonator. I have heard the fs stealth in real life and it was just like a stock exhaust. it seemed quiet much quiet than the way the st sounds stock. (i think)
