Basic Bolt Ons: Cat back exhaust systems

First I'd like to say hey everyone, as this is my first post. Secondly I'd like to ask, will I actually see a performance/Hp increase with the FsWerks street performance exhaust? Or is it all just bells and whistles? I don't want to drop the moolah if I'm not going to at least see a little bit of HP gain. Also, what kind of performance mod should I do next? I have a CAI already.

Also, is the exhaust difficult to install? Or would I need to have it professionally done..I don't have a welder so if it involves welding, I'd probably have to take it to a shop.

Anyone on here have a 2010 with dual exhaust? I'm looking to turn my 2010 SES stock exhaust system into a dual and could use some ideas! PM some pictures or helpful links if you can help!

i have the street on my ses and yes there was a noticable gain . id say its worth it , also you might wanna gut ur second cat , or put a straight pipe

I picked up a cheapie $100 cat back off of ebay - seller was speedyracerparts. Installation was a little fiddly - not too bad for me, as I work as a mechanic at my second job and had the car up on the two post lift. That said, the exhaust burble is nice and deep without being too loud. As for the performance gains - I have no idea about the numbers, but the car is a lot more responsive now. I also did the stealth CAI earlier in the week and that made a difference. For less than $150 all in and about an hour of my time, I'm back in love with my car. I can now hold off a bit longer on that 2013+ Focus ST that I'm lusting after. (don't want to get into another car loan quite yet - I'm liking not having a car payment...)

I was looking at the trubends tubing kit. Do you need a muffler with it or mabey just a resonator? I have the PZEV and after lunchbox delete there is like no noticible difference. But I don't want to sound like a honda. Trubends has a kit for sale right now with alll hangers and a honda muffler I was thinking of getting that and removing ther honda?

trubends has kits that are designed for our models. Your saying a fartcan style muffler tip..?

No it's for our models but it inline but says "honda style muffler"

Will a 2.25" catback system on a stock 2.0 improve fuel m.p.g.? What other bolt-ons help m.p.g.? I live in Cali., a b____h of a smog inspection state.

I've got a Trubendz kit on mine and I've noticed an average increase of 2-3 mpgs both around town and the highway. I've achieved 40 mpg a couple times on trips with varying speeds from 60-75. I replaced my 2nd cat with a high flow one. Not sure if this helps at all. May remove it if possible
