$50 bucks for Wiper Blades WTF!!!!

Today I was on my way to get some locking lug nuts from Autozone. So, my friend asked me to replace her wiper blades on her 08 Jetta. I told her "sure i'll got get some new blades for you." I then went out to look for them and ended up going to 3 different store until I found the blades. Once I found them, the guy at the counter said that they are a special design with a double blade, which I really don't know how they works still. Since it was new "SPECIAL" design for the 08 you can't just refill the blades you have to buy the whole wiper. So I ended up buying the wiper blades, which cost $25 each. Sucks for my friend having to pay me back $50 bucks(I'm nice so didn't make her pay). I really don't know what VW is thinking having people pay $50 buck every time they change their wipers. Now I know not to buy a new VW Jetta.

Probably not special. For a pair of Bosch Icons, it'll cost $40-$45 for the pair. Just a good set of wiper blades that'll last you a long time.

Those are Rain X Latitude in the pic you posted, they're worth the money.

that's not TOO bad.......I bought a pair of Silblades that look like the Icons for a total of $60 for the pair. they're guaranteed for 5 years to not diminish in quality though

still haven't put em on yet, though.

I paid $30 for a pair of Icons today. IMO worth every penny. $50 seems a tad high for any wiper.

FYI the rubber is replaceable. Just pull the cap off one end and the blade slides out. Uses a standard wiper refill blade. (Generally)

Have that style on my car and absolutely love them.

I have some sort of rain-x clones. They were $18 a pop. Totally worth it tho. They are excellent.
