the almighty focus running good.

Took the SVT to the track today.

A couple of things happened

1. ran a 14.901 1/4 mile all motor on the second pass
see dragtimes for timeslip
http://www.dragtimes.com/Ford-Focus-Timeslip-13757.html

2. on the last pass i blew the differential out of the side of the tranny. I haven't got under there to look since i towed it home. They had to close the track for cleaning for 50 minutes. I was the only one too that broke something.

On the last pass I wanted to heat up the tires real good. well i did and i gripped hard. too hard. i was pretty upset.

I'm pretty sure I could have ran better too, that also upsets me.

lesson learned.

That's a 14.2-14.5 pass on tires w/ a decent 60ft.

Good pass.

Build the trans/diff/clutch/lw fw and never worry about it again.

Check out the dragtimes site for some of the mods i have done.

I recently bought the Falken RT-615's. The car still gripped hard enough to blow out the differential. I really considering just sticking to road courses. I was just running 1/4 again for fun.

well if you're going to do road courses a LSD would help anyway. also i would stick a mtx-75 tranny in there since the getrag is basically trash now. better tranny, cheaper to buy, build, and work on. basically a direct swap too. put a torsen or quaife in there along with a set of 4.06 final drive gears and a good stg 2/3 clutch and dont ever worry about it again.

i would do it now while the tranny is out man. really. if you wait until this fall you will just have to pay even more to have the tranny pulled again. u go with another getrag tranny or u get the mtx-75?
