is this engine the same in the mazda 6 and on the focus right ?

i have a question to how come magazines call it the ZLEV engine?

el pio: yes, it's the same engine that is in the Mazda 6i

solaris: I noticed that in some magazine as well. I have only seen it referred to that way one time. Don't know why.

if thats so...why the 6 have arround 160 and the focus arround 147 !?
i guess it is becouse the emisions things...

lets see: 1) the Mazda version is not a PZEV engine. Therefor the intake is not choked off with the sealed unit air filter. 2) The Mazda version has only one high flow catalytic converter and better flowing exhaust. 3) the Mazda version also has VVT (variable valve timing)

that make sense...
so it is the pzev thing..
what about a swap between the engines...
get a 6 engine and drop it in a focus 2.3 ...

and i thought the focus had vvt too !


i'm just curious not that i will do that !

I was trying to find out if the exhaust and intake would swap over to the focus.
