Command Start will not start car.

i have a 2002 focus wagon ztec, when i push the command start button all the lights bells and whistles come on but no start ( and it keeps tryin to start it) when i have the car started and i want to return to command start mode, i push the button take the key out and it works, i was told that it could be the security bypass module, it just needs to be reset? i ahve sold this car, i had no idea that it was not working(got new car) and i do not wan to give it to them like this... any ideas? if it is the bypass thing how do i fix it

sounds like it would be the tack wire does it try to star then dies if so check that if you need pictures i will show you where to look. that what happen to mine a wire some how got corroded
