lol @ the walmart references. The only thing HTP and Wal-Mart have in common (I work there to pay for my school) is that their main goal is "To make their customers happy". One major difference is that HTP actually does so.

Anyone reading this thread, trust me- They aren't going to screw you. They make a very small margin of profit on all their parts. They are currently offering higher quality parts with more engineering behind them, at a lower cost than most competitors.

And, back on topic, if I had a zetec I'd def buy one.

(They're still working on pricing too)

I also need a replacement housing. Is this component going to be a reality. Or is it only an idea for the near future.

$200!!!??? For that I'll keep putting oem ones on...I can do 4 or 5 at that price, and the oem lasted 33K miles. Times that by 5, and I won't even have the car by then.

I was thinking $75-100, maybe. There's a price point at which it doesn't make sense to put on an aftermarket part for the sake of replacing a flawed oem one. If its gonna cost 5x's the oem one, forget it.

Heck, I've got access to a shop. Now you're making me want to fab one up myself.

Yeah, I figured it was a bit of speculation going on. Any idea the range you think this will fall in? Surely you have a ballpark. I realize its probably dependent on the # of units produced, but I would think this has to be affordable or you wouldn't be pursuing it.

I figure I'll probably have to replace the oem one at least 3 times, so to me if its under that price, then its worth it.

We are holding estimates until the final pricing comes out.

What you also need to think about here is the added benefit of:

1) Time AND Money you save from changing it over X# of times.
2) Addition of a spot for a water temp gauge sender.
3) For those concerned with aesthetics... its not an ugly plastic hunk!
