This build is just awesome, But why did you cut the hood supports? Aren't those there so that when you get into a crash it forces the hood to bend in half rather then come through the window?

b/c it is lighter and clears every thing that way. there is not problem of it coming through the window it isnt strong enough to do that. the windshield would just wad the hood up, with out those supports it is just a thin sheet of metal

school is limiting progress but i did buy some parts. i bought some new wheels, front tires, trans dip stick, and sheet metal for the floor pan. i just gotta get the trans built and the rear brakes finished and this thing will be drivable.
here are the wheels. the ones i bought are gunmetal with polished lip. i bought 17x9 35mm offset rear and 17x7 35mm offset in front. i know they will stick out a little but at least the front will be even with the back and a normal wide body kit will cover them. i could not find a high offset rear (50+mm) with 17x9 so this is what i got... the back tires are Nitto nt555r 275/45 and the front is nitto neogen 215/45 http://www.xxrwheels.com/sportmax_962.shtml

Do we have any idea how this thing is gonna handle, or is this more of a "try to get it to hook up first" kind of thing?
I am assuming, for one thing, that the large rears are going to induce major understeer when off throttle. [tapatalkin']

I'm curius why you would assume understeer on this rear wheel drive?
