If you haven't looked, I highly recommend checking out some of the threads in the "sticky" thread at the top of this forum area:
Autocross Racing Stickied Threads

That is too bad about the springs, and I suppose, they still used the stock dampers?
What wheels and tires (and tire size) are on the car currently?
If you have aftermarket wheels, they could very well have too low an offset which is causing part of the rubbing problem.

The stock SVTF dampers and springs are very reasonably priced, and provide great performance (especially for a 1st time AutoCrosser).
If you'd like to freshen things up, and not worry about tires rubbing anymore, those components would be a good option.
For the best price, you might see what one of our vendors on the site can do for you:
Get a hold of Mike Trendel (b16sir1991 on FF) at Hilbish Motors.
He is a vendor on this site, and has his own forums:
http://www.focusfanatics.com/forum/f...splay.php?f=94
NOTE!
Calling him will get much quicker results than posting a thread or sending him a PM.

You probley have stock shocks then. what kind of springs are they?

I have the same problem with the tire rub but I'm fixing that with koni shocks and struts and a 24mm sway bar.

You won't be able to run in the same class as him but you can compare times. Since you are new and don't know what class you are. You should just run novice (NOV) class. It is usaully a catch all and you can't earn points. If you want a trophy at the end of the year you need to have points.

many regions are different, for instance my local club has novice classes for every class and gives out trophies within the novices classes as well as within the regular classes at EACH event.

hey i am running nexo rims and i am using the same tire size as stock. i have sportline springs that are lowering it. as you can see in the photo's the car does sit low but it just overall looks good. there is not a huge about of tire rub.. just when i hit a dip or on some of the crazy on-ramps around here (of course i am doing 90 miles an hours and trying to corner). but i thinkif i brought it up about an inch that would stop the tire rub and make things overall a little bit better.

so i dont kow anything about the sportline springs but it does appear that everything else is stock. any more suggestions?

well after doing a little more reaserch it looks like the springs are made by eibach. i know they make a good product.. so i guess its just getting new shocks... and ideas on whats best for this kind of setup?
