heated seat questions

i have a svt that did not have heated seats and im thinking about buying new factory seats that are heated...i was just wondering provided i picked up the center cousole with the with the switches if the car is already pre-wired for heated seats or what would be needed to make the heated seats work?

Good question, I just did the same thing, I took the center console off, but don't see any harness. So yeah, anyone know?

I've got almost all the heater parts for my '07 SES, and have the pass side working. I've found that if you have a highly optioned car, like most SVTs or STs, the connectors are there. Mine were under the carpeting below the drivers seat with the rest of the wiring. Check your manual and see if the heated seat fuse is in the fuse box, if so you're probably set. Worth a look for the connectors even if the fuse is gone.

I did the entire install in my SE. Took a set out of a wrecked focus. The wiring was all there, but did not recieve any power. I had to rewire them to a power source. I did mine the (not so good) way. I wired mine to the 12volt, so they always have power if I leave the switch on. I need to rewire them again to a switched power.

yeah i have been getting mixed opinions on if the wiring is there or not....im hoping all i have to do is power up the switches

Anyclue where the harness are for the console switches? I can't seem to find them, and I took the center console off completely.

Pull out the center console and drivers seat, pull up the carpeting and the connectors could be bundled with the rest of the wiring that runs under the drivers seat. You should also see the wires that run up to the bulkhead connector at the base of the seats.

well got the seats today...seat harness looks to be the same as the ones on my old seats so thats a good sign...just hope the harnesses are there for the switches and i will be set :D

mrfatride, this should be no problem for you whether the harnesses are there or not. you have plenty of experience with electrical in vehicles. let me know the turn out. i want to add heated seats to mine as well but ill use an activation from my remotestart to turn them on. i hate aftermarket switches, and i really dont want to swap out my console.

yeah. If all i have to do is hook up the switch thats cool...i will just have to find the harness pigtail and *hopefully* all i have to do is get accy power to them and tap in to the wire in the seat....i would just rather not have to do all that lol
