Sorry to bust your balls - - but you're cluttering up my thread...

The alternator will recharge the battery while driving, that's not the issue. The question is if it will charge for multiple starts where the engine/alternator may not have the time to do its job recharging.

I like the lawn tractor battery idea though, I think the average lawn tractor has more accessories that my focus now

Car update just for fun, ended up putting a autozone battery in the car, for the moment, until I get some actual time to work on the car.

Had an autox at the BMW mfg plant this sunday, was 1st in class... out of 1...

I should have a lock on winning FSP in SCR region and CCR region. Also, Steve a former focus autox'r from ashville was able to provide me some very good instruction for driving lines, my times didn't reflect it, but I got a lot of sections down much faster.

Looking to team up with Steve and co-drive the car in november and work on improving my driving then.

Sounds like you are having a lot of working on & driving the car. I did an E Prepared Focus that won locally and in the Northeast, but was out powered at the Nationals. The best part is having fun driving ... and it goes over big with the lookers - have copper eyes & teeth ... I always get good comments,

1000th post, for better or for worse…. Haha, I thought it should at least go in my build thread.

Recently, I haven't done much on the car, been struggling with the bank to get a short sale on my rental property in Michigan, stupid housing market :(

Anyhow, 2010 season recap:
-FSP champion South Carolina Region SCCA
-FSP champion Central Carolina Region SCCA
(I must a admit though, these victories are partially by default, I just show up to all the events;) )
-I developed some bad habits with R-comps
-The car has ran very strong, no major issues! And its driven to every event!

General Goals for 2011
-Take pictures of future work on the car, my thread kind of sucks in that regard
-Get a Video Camera and add some in car video to my thread
-Repeat of FSP championships in both regions
-Keep the car running strong and worry free
-Have moar fun and meet more people!!!

Car Modification and Driving Goals for 2011
-Going back to street tires, need to get rid of the bad habits
-Stop slacking and get to an EVO or SoloPro school
-Sometime this year, finally install an LSD

I've only had time to run through the last few pages of the thread but it looks like you're on track with what you'll need to get faster.

I know that Lorin (omnifocus) is more than willing to help out with questions or to tell you exactly what he's done to the car, he really is a top notch guy.

Good luck with the upcoming season and may you be blessed with a heavy foot and superhuman cone dodging skills!

^^ nice goals. And congrats on your 1000th post.

Yeah I will be going to all the events this year as well ... but I don't think I will get a win for it. There are 2 other people in the ST class here that will also be here all year ...

i love this goal

Car Modification and Driving Goals for 2011

i keep telling myself this so i don't buy r-comps..

evo school is awesome. i just wish they wouldn't take it easy in my car. i know they don't want to damage it, but i understand the consequences. i want them to flat out so i learn the most.

good luck man.

@ Nickgt40 - Yeah, I've done plenty of stalking Lorin online even found a website he created when he first picked up his focus, that led me to finding this car and led me in the direction of mods to make and what's planned for the future. I'll have to get back on FJ though and pick his brain about where his car is now.

@GLU - On the street tires: half of it is budget, the other half is improving my driving. I found myself cutting corners too tightly and trying to power out of them. I wasn't following good FSP practice of finding the best line and using more momentum to maintain speed on courses. So back to street tires to really really work on my lines. Autox is really about putting the car exactly where it needs to be all the time, and last season I wasn't doing that.

This weekend I hope to go through the car and get it ready for my first event on the 19th.

Well, new tires are in:

[IMG][/IMG]

Hankook RS-3's in 225/45/15, watch out local tire class Next weekend is the first event of the year, and two C6 vettes, are registered in tire class. Time to show them what wrong wheel drive can do

And my cellphone camera sucks, and I really need to clean up the garage.

Have fun man and give 'em hell!

I have to wait, at the earliest, till late March to get to my first event of the season.

Keep us posted (as I'm sure you will) on your impressions of the 'Kooks.
