Can you confirm the steps done to set-up the base throttle stop on the car?

And did you do the battery reset to allow the vehicle to relearn the idle/TPS adaptive values?

What was the DTC #?

I'm thinkning that if you had too much throttle angle and RPM too high with IAC disconnected, then the IAC motor will not have enough range to keep idle RPM's on target.

Evan,

You might need to have your cal reviewed for the dashpot strategy.

There is a "dashpot preposition" setting in the CAL that controls where the IAC motor will go to for a "starting point" upon initial "coast down" before it ratchets down the RPM back down to idle.

If your engine makes more HP and is more efficient than stock, then this value may need to be reduced, so it does not flare up when coasting down to a stop. This is when the dashpot strategy kicks in, and if the preposition value is too high, you might get a flare like that.

Then there are also values to adjust "decay rates" etc which control how quickly the CAL will drop RPM from the preposition to the desired idle PRM.

Too slow of a decay rate, and the throttle feels like it's hanging, too fast of a decay rate, and it can feel like it's trying to stall.

These factors also come into play when you have a very light flywheel.

You would want a slower decay rate to keep the revs from dropping to fast since the reduced flywheel mass has less inertia.

When I was messing with my calibration, I played around with this a little since a have a slightly lighter steel flywheel, but mainly to get a slightly quicker decay rate so I can get more enigne braking and rotation on tight turns when I want it.

Since I have the SCT pro-racer package, I get to swap and adjust cals all I want, so my street, autoX and road race cals will have subtle changes to things like this.

I hate you

my idle strategy is &*^%*'d. needs overhauling. MTX swap really does a number on load at idle.

well its in!! it only took an hour too, it went very smooth. I dremeled the ducktail a little bit to round off the edge, but i was a little too sketched out to try and go much further than that... It made an awesome difference too! I dont have to give it as much heel during rev matching before a corner and corner exit acceleration is great! The response gain is great just from doing that small change, it also solved the rough idle problem i had! its idles very smooth now, thank you very much for the idea tb1999!! It is great, ill post a pic of it within the next few minutes in my gallery
