Hey honhon, I don't know if this has been asked but what are your interior plans for the car? Gonna strip it out with a rollcage or do some custom upholstery work or what?

ive already discussed with tom on tuning the motor. and after its tuned and running well, and the clutch is broken in. ill probably take a trip to CFM and have it dynoed

im un-certain about the interior... i know i want these items:

corbeua TRS seats
corbeau cam lock harnesses
nardi steering wheel with a NRG quickrelease
SVT pedals w/ the redline dead pedal (this is an iffy.. as i might take some skateboard tape and just tape over the pedals instead, to improve grip)

and the rest, im in the air about, i kinda want an OEM feal to the car. but then again, ive seen some very nice gutted cars where they had the interior paint matched to the exterior, and its just as glossy and such.

and of course, i plan on deleting the a/c so the air box and everything from under the dash will be tossed... and that makes me lean more towards a gutted interior, and also to save weight, and sinse once the seats are in with the harnesses, and this motor actually goes in, the car wont be a daily driver anymore.

so im kinda leaning towards a gutted interior, with a flat black floor(reduce glare) and then the rest, like the side metal and roof and pillars all liquid grey.

and if money permits, i really want to make panels for the doors and rear seat area for the sides out of carbon fiber, OR a light sheet of alluminum maybe painted liquid grey or wrapped in suede.


whats everyone's ideas? stripped or what?

Well once it is no longer a daily driver I would gut it and just have the front two seats. Get some nice light weight seats like you stated and get rid of the carpet, door panels, stereo, and all that jazz. But make it look clean and not just "gutted". Gotta look good for that magazine

yeah... i want to have jim, roushturbozx3 make me some type of X-bar for the rear... that'll make it look pimp.

and stereo will stay... maybe not the rear speakers... but i cants be without the radio, because this car will still see the street. lol ill probably still keep the rear speakers, ill just get better looking speakers. so it wont be as ugly, and maybe wrap them in suede to make them hidden.

yeah, i wanna hit sebring when i get better. but ill get my start with autox.

and the wife and just estimated our taxes on H&R and were gettin like 4k$ back... so i should be able to order about $1500 in parts within the next 2 weeks. the rest will go towards bills, and to pay my mother in law some money so she can get through the months alittle easier.

And I want to drive my car at a road course super bad but I would have to travel a ways. But I will try autox this summer. You doing anything suspension wise?

the gutted interior will put you in a retarded class in autoX but it will still be a blast.

What ever happened to your plan to gut the interior, wiretuck it all, and paint it battleship gray?

I think doing some nice aluminum interior panels with beadrolled accents would look baller in it, I saw a Datsun 510 done up like that and it looked amazing.
