if the boot just has a leak you can replace it before the lube all leaks out, but if the joint is making noise it's probably too late and you have to replace the whole CV joint (axle)

if its makin noise it is
 . oh and make sure your friend evacuates all the air from the system before he adds the freon, other wise it will freeze up on you alot. you could come out and do it all you know

Lolz well Gerald let me know when. That way you can look into my noise. It does not make any noise when I am moving only when I am at idle and on Drive.
I am going to look at at all my CV boots inner and out. I think my inner boots are toast. Gerald any input and where I should get the stuff maybe the pick and pull? Did you have any luck with the vaccum? That way we can do it all? My car is cursed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

when is your days off? when dealing with axles buy new boots but if your axle is bad then just buy the axle and it comes with the new ones. lol i will grab the vaccume in the morning so when ever your ready. im on nights this week so technically we can meet in sac and do it there if you want like around 9 or 10 at night. just need to be sure there is a power outlet i can use there.

I have a power outlet in little back patio but we would need a long extension cord. I live in an apt. So would that be 9-10 at night? Or AM?
And Im going to see if Autozone haves any new boots that way we can just put them on. I mean it doesnt make any noise when moving just at idle.

Gerald i think we can just inject grease into the boots, and plug the hole with high heat silicone.
