Intake Manifold Runner Control. SVTs have a dual stage intake manifold that almost responds like VTEC. and its gotta Runner Control that changes the way the air is forced in, but ill let Kyle or Stivo break it down for you since they own an SVT.

Rookie Question...

If I do this:

"I then reset the engine light by disconnecting the battery, 30 seconds to a minute is all thats needed, and started the car. "

And the check engine light goes out and stays out, can the code still be checked? I want to see if I can get rid of the light, but still want to see what caused it.

HELP!

if it stays out then there shouldnt be anything wrong. you probably just woke your computer up from driving it how it supposed to be driven. haha.

BUT, if it comes back on then have kyle check it out. in the mean time check all your hoses and whatnot.

no, go get a scanner and get the code... search for the code/solution here on FF. just unplugging it does not fix anything, might as well pull the bulb out of the check engine light!

-edit-
sorry, lack of reading.... yes i believe the code can still be checked.

congrats on the new ride!

I'm 99.9% sure if you disconnect the battery to turn the CEL off you can't check the code unless the CEL comes back on. The CEL is an indicator that there is a code.

right, but i think the code stays in the computer for 40(?) warm up cycles until the code is cleared. the scanner will indicate if the code is present and if the CEL is on.

I found an oil leak and low oil... That may be the problem. Andrew (Stooge) has graciously offered to check it out and see if I blewed-up my engine or it's just a oil pan/head cover gasket or something simple...

Thanks Stooge!!!
