Wide Band Numbers Question...

Ok I have been having issues with my Focus, the only thing I can really pin-point is my wideband numbers. On cold start my car is running between 10-12, once if warms up it usually goes back to it's 14 area it should be in, but it will go so low it will just sit at 10 for a bit probably because that's as low as the gauge goes? I just don't know what to start testing???

As far as I am concerned, a little rich on cold start won't hurt anything. Does it go above 10 if you drive it cold or just sit at 10 at idle and wil driving?

I belive it goes up when I start to drive it, sometimes it will stay at 10. Another thing is my idle bounces quite a bit on cold start, maybe it's my TPS??? Definitely could be tune, or the lack there of. I haven't tuned it since I got the BBK

And I thought that is the lean side, isn't like 16-17 area in the red rich?

no... definitely not.... its air/fuel, so a higher number means more air.

You might be thinking of short term trims which, on the focus, are the opposite of lambda, as in, <1 is lean and >1 is rich.

Foci run rich at start up, its built in the tune to warm up the cat faster.
