x2. I've been helping Josh (gonefhsn) out with his and we can't get the Xcal3to datalog with the AEM. We've followed the directions on the firewire. The instructions state to use an Apple brand firewire, does it matter if we don't use the Apple firewire? Need help.

i used an apple firewire cable and .......it f-in worked! the red wire is the signal wire. take that to the AEM's white wire. then the grey/black wire to ground. the red wire is teeny tiny so make sure you secure it, and DON'T kink the line. it needs to remain straight.

i wrote about it in the other dataloging thread. forget where...

Yeah, we read that one, so it might be the fact that we aren't using an Apple wire.

apparently there are 2 different types of cords. the pins are different i guess. one of the wires IS the one that goes to the correct pin on the Xcal. test each one till you get a reading on the Xcal. one has to work!

Glad to hear you got it working! I didnt have to use a specific cable with my xcal3 so I didnt know what to say.

does anyone know if this will work on a glowshift Gauge? and if so any clue as to what color the output wire will be?
