focus ses wagen powerlock
Hi! I own a 2007 focus wagon and the rear left door is unlock and wont lock
from the front or rear lock switch . the dealer told me that the actuator witch is faulty is a part of the latch at $340.00 here in canada . I also found universal actuator for ford focus . My question is : Can I change the actuator only witsh is $15.00 instead of the whole latch at $340.00 and if not is there a way to lock that door manually till It gets repair Thanks Michel |

Unfortunately the actuator is all one piece with the latch. Mine did the same thing. Inside the latch is a motor with a worm gear. The plastic cradle which holds the worm gear broke, allowing the worm gear to push sideways and jam up. That is why it won't manually lock or inlock either. Instead of replacing mine, I removed the latch, took the cover off, and removed the worm gear. That will allow you to manually lock and unlock it until you can replace it if you desire. but to answer your question, you cannot replace the actuator only. Sorry for the sad news.
