I installed the Steeda in my 08. The install was easy! I didn't even have to remove the center console I just removed the boot and there was plenty of room for the install. In answer to your question , YES you use the stock mounting bracket. The Steeda has made for a GREAT improvement in shifting my Focus. I am sure you will enjoy it!

Just installed the Steeda STS in my 2010 SES -- ITS GREAT!!

I noticed gears 1, 3 and 5 have a longer throw than 2, 4 and R -- is this normal? I assumed the throw would be the same on all the gears.

It just seems that way from where you are sitting, I bet if you measure from neutral they are the same.

Really? I'm not going by how it "looks". 2nd and 4th FEEL extremely short, which is awesome. 1, 3 and 5 feel like the throw is longer. Guess I'll measure.
