Smile New 2012 Focus (fun like a kid again)

I recently retired, got rid of my Ford Ranger 4X4 by trading it for a new (slightly used) 2012 Focus SEL hatchback. It's real sweet with 17 inch rims, the Sport package with leather, SONY sound, and moonroof. Because of not having an earlier mid-life crisis I added an Ingen cold air intake and Flowmaster Force II exhaust 2 months after I bought the car. My wife thinks I'm nuts but I LOVE it! Sounds real nice with a low rumbling. Not too loud unless you step on it. I also added custom LED daytime running lights in the two triangular plastic trim pieces under the headlights.
My ONLY regret so far has been what I have heard lots of people say, is the transmission. It does seem out of sorts trying to decide what gear to go into and it annoyingly wants to shift up too soon to a higher gear effectively slowing the car down between shifts. I was disappointed with that so I now drive almost exclusively in the Sport mode and manually shift the car through it's gears. Much nicer, however it too exhibits some timing issues especially when going from 2nd to 3rd gear. There is a long lagtime between shifts.
I read there was a TSB (technical service bulletin) out for a PCM/TCM flash that can be done to Focus's manufactured before August 2011 that will help a lot with the transmission issues. Mine was made in June of 2011 so I thought I would call my Ford dealer and see about getting that flash done. Anybode else have that done to their car or heard of that service bulletin? It would be worth it to smooth out those issues.
Other than that, I love the little car, it really gets up and goes now with all that extra air going in and coming out unhindered!

Wink Exhaust clips coming

It's so darn cold here I haven't tried recording any sound clips of the exhaust. I will soon, as soon as the snow goes and I can stand being out for a few minutes.

Lots of other FF members have had it done, with mixed results. Google: "12B37" worse than before site:focusfanatics.com

and "12B37" "much better" site:focusfanatics.com

For example:

There may be some pattern to predict whether it would improve the way your car behaves or make it worse, but I don't think one has been identified yet. From what I've read, the dealers will not reverse it if it makes things worse and that has been a real headache for some who have had it done.

Try the 80 series Flowmaster it sounds amazing put it on my first 2012 ford focus se yellow blaze only reason I put it on was because I called Flowmaster and that's what they told me to put on it because the muffler sits behind the rear axle its a single in dual out muffler and sounds perfect and keep both resonators in place just replace the muffler I have since got rid of the yellow blaze focus but I now have a 2012 Ford Focus SEL hatchback set up the exact same way and it also sounds perfect matted to the 2.0L engine and I now have a k&n air filter in it and it will get up and go just check it out before you do a complete exhaust overhaul
