'14 Focus v. '14 Cruze

Honestly, this was a car I was debating on. I still really like them too.
What do you think?

I had a 2013 focus and there is a 2012 cruze in my household. Problems with both, more problems with the ford.

My current 2014 Mazda 3 blows them both away in reliability and I like it more for its handling and looks. The 2.0L engine also responds better at parking lot speeds and requires less downshifting on the highway. It also gets better gas mileage than the other cars.

All cars have manual transmissions.

See, I've never actual had any problems with Chevy, had an hhr which was a tank and a silverado full crew cab. My friend is in love with Mazda and his cars are nice. His MS3 is fun as hell but Ford had the car and a better price.
Would you say the cruze was a good buy? Cause I would like to get a second car for the house but I don't know.

The cruze is fine. The biggest thing that bothers me is the engine likes to stall at low speeds. The stock 17" aluminum wheels just seem to bend easily. Inside the materials feel cheaper than the other 2 cars discussed. It doesn't get as good of mileage as expected and if there is several passengers or cargo in the car it feels underpowered.

My hhr was pretty cheapy of the interior. Well I drive on dirt roads so low speeds is kind of standard for me.

Just rented a Cruze a couple weeks ago. My main complaint is the steering is too light. Handling was very soft too though it did have the 16" alloys. Maybe the available 18's give a noticeable improvement. The engine was quiet and responsive.
