SVT - Fix or sell as is?

Hello just joined the site to get some opinions. I'm an owner of a 2004 Focus Svt zx5 Comp. Orange Euro package. I hit 103k and it jumped time and just ruined everything. (so im told) I'm not really knowledgeable in cars. I bought the car in 08 with 25K miles. I bought it when I was 18 and I've taken great care of it. I don't know if it would be worth replacing the motor and selling it or sell it as is. I don't know what i could get out of it if i fixed it and what its worth "as is"? So any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Made this it's own thread in Focus & General Car Chat

"Curious Stain under the Hood" might fit, but not the best thread to post it in (grin)

I've really set it on the back burner. I'd like to get 3,500 as is. I joined this this site to get a realistic idea.

that might be a little much for a car with a "blown" motor
I have picked up 2 svt parts cars in the past with good motors
one wrecked for $1,800 and one with a rear main seal leaking
for a little over $2K

closer to $2k is "realistic" as is

you can rebuild the motor if its repairable , find a used motor
part it out (if you have the time and know how to get the car apart i have parted out 3 svts and the older the car gets the harder it is to sell parts and get good money out of the parts seems most people still with MK1s are "cheap" most the guys with money to spend have moved on to other cars), or sell as is

I'd figure out what it needs & takes to repair. Also figure out what your car is worth in running condition? Is it in fair, good or excellent condition? How are the seats?

a couple comp o's hav ebeen for sale lately. one was for sale for 2500, running, around 100k miles , but he couldn't get a buyer so he parted it.

There is currently a Comp O with only 63k miles and a skipped timing belt for sale on a certain site for 1k , and it looks in showroom condition.
