Getting a focus!!! hoooray!

Hey everyone,

So after being on these forums for months and months just reading, I'm finally getting a focus. yay! haha

So after I read the ad, kinda looked a bit sketchy. I was unsure about even going up to look at it. Since I dont have a car, had to get my roommate to drive me up there. It was about a 30min drive to discover I was most likely driving to a farm. Sure enough a farmer, nice lady and all.

So its a black 2001 ZX3 w/ 155,000km on it. She wanted 3500 for it. First thing before the test drive was a walk around the car to discover on the hood, quite a few rust spots.. hmm not what I like to see, then once I got to the back, the hatch had quite a bit of rust, I was getting more and more disappointed. Took it for a test drive though and she ran beautiful! I havent driven a lot of standard before so I'm not 100% sure about the clutch but it seemed in good shape, along with the rest of the car.

Here's the catch though, which made it worthwhile to buy. Shes getting an autobody guy to sandblast the trunk and hood and repaint it. I get to see the car thursday at some point as a last decider and final decision that I`m going to buy it. Which I probably will.

I believe Ford has a 10 year corrosion warranty on body parts. Look into it. If there's rust on the hood, it's probably from opened chips. The hatch, probably clogged drain holes which allows water/salt to sit inside. The doors probably have the same.
