ZTS Questions

I bought a new 2003 ZTS (last one on he lot). Looking for some insight here. I previously owned a 2001 SE. When I owned the SE I noticed some characteristics about the ZTS. Obviously the sport package was one of them. The 2000-2002 ZTS cars had a chrome plate under the Ford emblem on the rear decklid, where the LX and SE had flat black. Mine is body colored on my ZTS. Did they change this on the 2003? Secondly, the wheels on my car and some other ZTS cars have a groove engraved on each wheel spoke, whereas the 2004 ZTS is smooth. Additionally, if you go to the Ford website to build a ZTS, Advance Trac is not offered as an option, which my car came equipped with. Advance Trac includes four wheel ABS disc brakes. Anyone know what Ford's thinking on this is? I sure can't figure it out, but I love the car. Any input is greatly appreciated.

For 2004, advancetrac isn't offered on the ZTS or maybe at all? The color keyed lip on the back I thought started on the '04s, but since you got a late model '03 they had probably already changed it.

Um, working from memory here, for '04 the ZTS gets the 2.3 PZEV as standard equipment and AdvancTrac apparently is not available with that engine.

well i have a thought on the rims. i had a 2001 se. it had the 10 spoke irms with the large center cap. these werent 2 bad. then i bought a 2002 zts. it came with the 6 spoke solid spoke rims. then in 2003 the switched the 6 spokes to the ones with the groves in them. WATCH THESE RIMS!!!!!!! especially if there are potholes where you live. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS! my wife hit a bad ph with those 16"6 spokes and bent the SHIZNIT out of it. thats mostly due to the lowprofile tires having no sidewall to absorb road bumps/shocks, so the rim takes all the abuse. i currently also have a 2000 zts w 15" 10 spokes and im staying with those, no probs with them bending. also on the rear deck trim. ur rihgt hte se had black and the zts up til 2003 had chrome. the bad thing with the chrome plated plastic was that it gets pits/rust on the top edge where it contacts the decklid & holds moisture. my 2002 had the rust spots after only bout 6 monthe, but now that they are color coded i'll be replacing the chrome with that.
