Ford Focus Builder's Handbook 2003

This is a new book released in Sept of 2003.
I got this book about 2 weeks ago and it's definitely worth the money.
It's got information on all sorts of mods from intake, udp, turbo, supercharger, cams, timing and exhaust.
The book has dyno charts for most of the items they tested but don't expect everything made for the Focus to be tested in this book.
If anything, the book has a lot of good info on what to expect from a mod and how to get the best output from a mod.
The book covers the Zetec and Zetec/SVT engine mods.
This book is informative to those who need some clarification on engine mods and what they really do for the car.
The one I liked was the Nitrious dyno did on a lighly modded Zetec engine that yeilded 50WHP
from 2.5K to 6K RPM's.
A lot of the applications from the Focus Central mods are in the book and some of the mods are done with the help with the guys like Dennis from Focus Central.
Anyway, if anyone is interested in getting the book, go to MyFordFocus.com and they have a code for free shipping. It took about 10 days for me to receive the book or you might be able to get it at your local book store but my Barnes and Noble isn't expecting it until later this month.

Definitely more information than the Focus Magazine.
U won't more information about mods in any other book that deals with the Ford Focus exclusively.

That might be because one is a BOOK and the other is a MAGAZINE.

I was just making an observation that the magazine was lacking in the mod section and the book is a good place to start if your looking for information on mods for the Focus.
The magazine needs more articles on mods and less advertisments. I hope they put out another issue and make it a regular monthly or quarterly issue. I liked both, the magazine was just flat compared to the book....

Does anyone know if this "Ford Focus Builder's Handbook" is as good or better than the Haynes, or Chilton's repair manuals? I need a book today or tomorrow, and I want the best one.

The handbook discusses mods, dyno and HP gains.

If you need a repair manual, go with the Chilton, Haynes or the manual on CD then you can just print the pages you need as you need them.

I read the handbook at Books a Million, and it is great if you want to know what different brand names and different mods do to your car hp wise, but if anyone is looking to do serious engine work like say cams, tranny, piston replacement, etc., go out and get a Haynes repair manual for your car. It breaks everything down to the nuts and bolts of pretty much every inch of the car.

I love it too! I have had questions that instead of asking here, I've looked them up in the book. I kinda gives a basis for building the set-up you want too.
