Kngjake,

Hey man, I've been keeping my eye out for the Steeda for my 05 for a while, I didn't know it was out! So is everything working out for ya then? Let me know how your car takes to it, I've been having a few probs with mine lately! Thanks!

Nick

It has progressively seem to pull better through the first week in the low and high gears. I think it would do well through the middle if it wasn't for the AT not downshifting when you get on it. It likes to be stubborn.

The sound is incredible. While I have nothing to compare it to (except my WRX), it sounds like a high output motor. You don't notice it with normal driving. When I do get on it, it's funny to hear it echo off of underpasses when all I've got is an intake upgrade. Someday I'll find out what the MPG savings is!

The installation was easy and took about an hour.

In regards to the appearance, the pictures speak for themselves.

about 230. If you just want the intake without the air box to keep it cool it's like 180.

I haven't ever seen one of the Steeda units before. Can the bright metal cover be easily painted prior to installation?

In my opinion, I guess itz what u call 'easily'. I mean, u would have to sand, then paint. Itz whatever ur up to!!!!!!!!!!

I want all the exposed metal parts to be painted as opposed to bare metal. My trim color is Yellow so I want my mods to reflect that.

first just sand using a decent grit sandpaper. something between 100 and 130 would be fine. Spray a good first coat. Then decide whether you want to try and paint again. Be your own judge to how much more sanding you might want to do. Heat resistant paint might also be a good idea...some CAI's get hot, some don't, but just in case right?
A clear coat might be a good idea too for protection and good shine!
Just try a couple of coats then decide if you want to take it any further. If ya have any more questions please don't be afraid to ask!
Good Luck!

Might just take it in and get it powder coated.
