Break down?

My mom owned a ford years ago and that thing was a piece of junk, she swears she would never buy one. I have numerous people also telling me DONT BUY FORD, but they all had experiences years ago that where negative also.

I know that the focus has had alot of recalls but the new ones should be in good shape, how many of you own the 04 focus zx3 and have had problems with it? I only ask because I want to buy one but I'm scared of how many times I may have to take it back to the shop.

I'm not insulting the focus, I'm intrested in buying one, I just want an honest poll on how many people have had bad experiences with the car.

As far as I know, the 2004s have no recalls whatsoever. In fact, I don't think a Focus has had one after the 2001 MY. There may be some technical service bulletins, but those are usually for minor things and definitely don't apply to all vehicles of that year.

And at this time there are only 7 TSBs out, that's after a full year of the 2004s being available since the 05's are out. See here

I have a '00 which is supposed to be the year with the most recalls. I have yet to experience any mechanical problems.

I'm glad to hear it guys. On some of the car review boards people where putting about how their transmissions/brakes/engines where all giving out really early. But the reviews looked like they where mad from people that just hated ford or soemthing because they didnt back up why they didnt like ford, just put that they suck. Thanks again.

I have an 02 which is a TOTAL p.o.s. The list of problems I've had with it already would take up too much space here. That being said, my sister leased a 00 and had no problems, and my Dad still drives an 01 with over 70k, he's had no issues except for the infamous stuck key in ignition.
