Dunno if the record still stands.
The engineering is AMAZING. Being a road race guy, those tidbits blew me out of my socks!!  I figured, OK... big motor, light turns green and stomp it. After reading that, it's a lot like looking at three switches knowing one will cause a bomb to explode if I push it too quickly... I'll stick with cornering.

|
Heres another fact: Dragsters dont have transmissions, they have direct-drive clutches. As you go faster it engages more and more clutch. By the end of the track, the clutch has lost about 1/10th inch of material.
