Mcnews Automotive shop car --SCT Tuned--

Mcnews automotive has been tuning with the Superchips Custom Tuning software for a little while now and what better way to spread the word of Mcnews and their SCT tuning ability, than by a display on their own focus shop car.

Until recently the mcnews shop car has had the following mods:

Iceman intake tube with a K&N filter
Pro-M 70mm MAF
BBK T/B
Ford Racing UDP
Ford Racing cam gears
Cat stage 2 cams
2000 intake manifold
Ford Racing 24 lb injectors
Ford Racing cylinder head with cat valvesprings and retainers, no porting or milling.
Stock internals
SVT header w/ custom pipe
Trubendz 2 1/2 flexpipe
MBRP 2.5" catback exhaust
Ford Racing Clutch
Ford Racing Torsen LSD
4.06 gears
NX wet nitrous kit

It made 159 whp and 154 wtq as its peak #'s. It ran a 14.7 in the 1/4 mile All-Motor and a 13.90 on a 75 shot

They changed the MBRP to a Ford Racing/Borla 2.5" catback.

It has been re-tuned using the SCT tuning software and dyno'd, it made the following #'s, 155 whp and 148 wtq.

This seems like a loss, but the timing and air fuel ratios were changed completely which gave better full range power. Remember this car uses stock compression ratio, there is alot more power to be had in this setup. In addition, when the 159/154 dyno was made, the car was wearing its 15" wheels with sticky tires. For the 155/148 dyno the car had its 17" street wheels and tires

The car just ran a best of 14.24 All-Motor with a 2.0 60' time and a 13.33 on the Nitrous (a 50 shot, not the 75) with a 60' time of 1.91

This makes it one of the fastest daily driven All-Motor foci around!

Mcnews next goal is to get into the 13's all-motor and the 12's on the bottle.

Yes they are running full slicks.

Remember this car is not gutted either, it has a full back seat, interior etc. They only thing they ever removed was the spare tire.

The car was kinda tricky to get used to. They have seen a 1.90 60' time all-motor, if they can get it down to that, the car will run a 13.9X all-motor.

Valvebody, torque converter and most likely an overhaul kit. Though, since it hasn't been done yet, no one knows.

Yes you can, if you set your car up in a similar fashion and get some mods to the auto you can certainly run those times.

Its all about the combination of parts and the tune.
