focus won't start. thinking ECU problem, can anyone help???

ok, let me start from the very beginning. i had recently took my motor out and rebuilt it, at the same time i purchased a SCT2 tune device, before i even started the car for the 'first' time i was messin around with the tuner. the first time i went to start it, it wouldnt start. its a 5 speed manual and it was like i just didnt have the clutch in or something. so after a few days i had remembered i messed around with the tuner, so i reset it all to stock and the car started right up. about 2-3 days later it did the came thing, so i reset it again. and than finally last night while out, i hooked up the SCT2 to check some stuff out and the screen went to just blue, and the car did it again. so right now the car wont start, all the dash lights come on and everything but the car does not start. my uncle and his friend own tha "snap-on" MODIS and if anyone knows what they are, its a 12,000 ECU module. and when they hooked it up, it basically read as it it wasnt plugged in, not reading the ECU at all, it read all the body systems but nothing with the engine PCM.

can anybody help me at all???

Make sure you have restored the origional backup or gone back to stock with the tuner

Make sure the ground wire beside the batt is hooked up and grounded good small wire going to the ground

You have a ECU fuse as well you might want to check

do you have - - - - - on the odometer

What is you PATS light doing the small flashing light over your 4-way flasher switch

I've seen the same symptom on several cars that would not start. When you hook up an OBDII reader to the system, and it cannot read the codes (assuming the code reader is good), it usually means.....a fuse for the ECU is blown, or a relay supplying power to the ECU is not working for some reason.

A bad ECU is possible, but that's rarely the problem. Of course since you were in the system with your mods, anything is possible......

Ok, If you cannot restory your origional backup and the fuse for the ECU is good and all grounds are good then you will have to have the PATS reset

What is the light above the 4-way flashers doing blink-blink-blink-blink or blink-blink........blink-blink or blink.....blink.....blink.....blink

This light is directly related to how the ECU is communicating with the PATS

Dont know what did you do to get the - - - - to come up

What the ------ mean is the ECU is not talking with the key so it could be many things first I need to know what caused it

make sure all the grounds are there, one that is not connected can cause this problem.
