Good Idea for Texas Round Up 2!

Well I heard the good news that the next one might be in houston sometime in the spring. But i have an even better idea. How about we dont do it in houston but we do it in a town called Sargent. If u dont know where it is its about 2 hours from houston going south towards lake jackson. The reason i say this is its a small town and theres miles of beach for us to have a perfect photoshoot. Its really beautiful down there and we could fish and bar b que and do anything we wanted down there. It would be kind of a long drive for yall austin/dallas/fort worth and any other place i missed. It was just an idea so i would like ur input on it. I figured since the other one turned out so well and i couldnt go then i would try and help to organize the next one. Heres a link to a website that has any info u will need to look for it. Click here

A Texas version of (the beach gathering in CA) wouldn't be too bad, just think on Galveston Island, Mustang Island or Padre Island would be a better place for it.

I'm going to let the people whom want to plan the spring meet, plan the spring meet. I did my job suggesting the road to have fun on this last one.

Thanks Jeremy, but we are trying to keep it close to major population of the members.

Dallas people don't mind the drive if there is going to be a meet like we had last weekend.

There are already some details worked out and it has only been 3 days.

There is a long time before next spring so anything is possible.

If we have to stay in Houston ... I suggest the Great park on Hwy 6 then some fun run at TRACK 21 (REAL GO KARTS) ... And have a race around the inside track here in Houston.

There is always ChaChos ... but I think we have quite a bit of new and old members that chachos ... EVEN IF CALLED Early would be too pack.

... ... ... We here in Houston will keep looking ... ... ...

I think with a few small meets of HTown peeps we can figure something out.

^^ Yup that's why I thought about it ^^

See the thing is ... We all love photoshoots and we all love grouping of foci ... but we also need to have a good reason to come to each city and create our TEXAS FOCI COMMUNITY.

Austin has that Great Twisty road ... (There are more) just need to map it close to a lot of us.

Dallas well .... wide spread to find someplace to meet

San Antonio - You guys have the river walk area ... and lots of AutoX Folks

El Paso ... Lots of land ... ...

Galveston - has the Beach

For us down south we need to find something intriguing ... or just plain fun.

So ... Houston ... Well, I figured the park where there is PLENTY OF SPACE to meet everyone ... Let's See:

1) The Park on HWY 6 - Secluded SUPER HUGE and right down the street from Track 21
2) Memorial Park - Right in the middle ... lots of space ... Super easy location. Not for from ChaChos
3) Herman Park - Great Scenery also right in the middle - Lots of great pics ... and if you guys are up to it KATZ's RESTAURANT Also Great Place.
4) The Park in Pasadena ... Lots of Space as well ... Nice Lake ... Great pics ... And we could have a good round of Bowling in that area. Not so crowded
5) THERE IS ALWAYS KEMA ... Great location for shots (Dock and water) - lots of eateries ...

Now I am also looking into the thought of cost ... Obviously we are in a Bad Economy time so everyone these days are working harder just to EAT.

So I was also thinking a good park ... FOR A BBQ!!! I would chip in some meat and coolers and Games (Soccer, Football [FLAG] to not hurt anyone) Maybe even make a tournament out of it (CITY VS CITY) - MAYBE .... I see it now.

This will low cost on food for everyone and would get us out having fun at the same time with taking great pics of cars in a lot ... and then end it with some fun either on a race track (Made for SMALL Engines - go karts of course) or round of bowling.

-Raymond-

BUT Like I said .... We here in Houston can find something to do ... I mean come on ... WE ARE THE 4-5 (changes) LARGEST CITY IN THE STATES ... We are bound to have something.
