If you're really worried about it get the stealth converter. Replaces the straight pipe with a muffler on it. Then you will never have a problem but still have the deep sound. All depends on the area I guess.

Ive been in cars that were given exhaust tickets. Not often but it does happen. Usually if your driving like a jerk-a-derk. But live and learn.

Ive had my share of tickets, adding up well over the then thousand dollar mark, thus is why I lay low these days and drive a focus haha. But really, save it for the track or a road out in BFN

Wow, if you're running just the FSWerks Race Exhaust, it's not that much louder than my Magnaflow 2.5in exhaust. I've even driven by cops when I had my F2 Header and Magnaflow set up and they didn't do anything. You must have done something else to get their attention or this guy was having a bad day and you were a convenient target.

well i did some research before i bought my exhaust just in case i were to get a ticket. The officer must actually prove that the exhaust was too loud "scientifically!" (could be heard at a distance of x and must be metered with a decibel meter. also the officer has to prove that it was modified or defective). The RCW does state that it can be thrown out for that reason. Also the officer didnt cite you for a modified exhaust, only a defective exhaust. Theres your win right there. But actually the FSW Race exhaust removes the 2nd cat and isnt carb legal in all 50 states... The no proof of insurance is easy to get out of if you have insurance. Just bring in your insurance cards.

Easy way out and much cheaper than the ticket, get an attorney.

Not necessarily true. I'm sure the wording says that but I remember reading it and to give you a ticket they have to test it and measure over 104db or something like that. Read the RCW fine print. We all drive loud exhausts and we get no trouble.

No proof of INSURANCE? That's part of the basics man. ALWAYS have it on you. I agree with some of the others on here, dude was having a bad day and your bright red noisy car was an easy target. Don't switch it back out. Maybe convert to stealth but don't choke your car on the stock size.

I say fight the ticket man! Or, pay that Heidi something firm to take care of it. It's way cheaper than paying the ticket and they'll get you off of it.
