This looks like something worth looking into, I also use the ASM 0w-20 from AMSoil and would look into this for my next oil change.

An oil that is truly designed for NASCAR racetrack usage is, in the real World, inappropriate for street car usage.

The conditions are so different, e.g. a NASCAR engine uses the oil for no more than a few hours and therefore long-term corrosion inhibitors are irrelevant, while for a street vehicle this is an important factor.

This idea that because something is "racing" it is great for street usage s nothing but a marketing gimmick, targeted at people who don't know better.

That is why I need to look into it more. Just because someone posted something would not make me want to use it, I take that idea and do my own research. I don't claim to be an expert on oil, but I know enough to make an informed decision after the research is done.

Here's an example of an honest company with a good reputation (Red Line), that actually is honest and tells you their racing oils are not suitable for street usage:

"To reduce the chance of detonation, these race oils contain very few detergents and are not recommended for street use"

I myself prefer buying from companies like Red Line that tell the truth, not the popular hype, e.g., "Dominator?" LOL! Is their next oil going to be called "Big P*nis" racing oil?

^^^lol yeah I have to agree. Not all race oils are meant for the street at all. Look at what they have it listed for use in. Junior dragsters and such. Kinda like race brake pads. Not practical for everyday use as they require lots of heat to work right which just isn't built up in daily driving.

I haven't read it but i don't think they intend on it being used in street vehicles. I help out on a local dirt late model team and we have always used Amsoil products.

I wouldn't even think of using this stuff in a regular street car but we do use it in the race car and change the oil every weekend. I don't think there is anyone stupid enough to use racing oil in a street car at least i hope not. They make other oil for that.
